Goldshaw Booth Parish Council
Come along...
The next Parish Council meeting will bring discussion about the snagging and completion of the Access-4-All pathway in Newchurch park and the planning of events over the next few months. We are looking at: Bonfire Night; Santa Comes to Newchurch; and the switching on of the Christmas lights – all dates and arrangements will be confirmed on the Goldshaw Booth Parish Council FB group and in next month’s Parish News.
Imminent is the St. Mary’s Church blessing of the refurbishment works creating the new Narthex (with kitchen and toilet). The area will be available to the village for events and could well be the new meeting place for the Parish Council meetings – watch this space!
The blessing service starts at 3.00pm on the 3rd Sept. and will be followed by light refreshments. If you like tea and cake or just want to see what in heaven’s name a Narthex actually is the Church and congregation would love to see you there.
The Parish Council’s bids for funding from the Barrowford and Western Capital Bid fund were successful. Thank you to Joe (Clerk) for putting those together for us. There were two bids, one for adding to the Spenbrook garden areas and the second to contribute to replenishing the tree stock of Sparable wood. Both these projects will progress in the next few months. Volunteers for helping with the woodland would be very welcome.
A big thank you to Caroline for bringing up the issue of the spread of Himalayan Balsam at the top of Newchurch. This non-native species is invasive and damaging to other species. Caroline and Laura are organising a Balsam Bashing session so volunteers would be very welcome please. More details will be on the GBPC FB group.
We look forward to seeing you there…
