Reading Month, Tracksuits, Breakfast Club, Bake Off...
- Reading Month
Throughout February, our children have participated in ‘Reading Month’ in order to promote a love for reading and reading for pleasure. Families were invited to ‘Stay and Read’ with their children once a week. They participated in a Sponsored Read, where they set themselves a goal to read for a certain amount of minutes per day, with funds raised being spent on new reading materials. Finally, there was a reading competition, where children who read every day with an adult, were rewarded with a trophy. We are super proud of all our children and we hope that this has inspired them to read more at home. - School Tracksuits
February has been very exciting for our children as they all received a free school tracksuit. Our Year 6 children did a fantastic job helping us to design the tracksuits during the Autumn Term and they finally arrived before half term. The children wore their tracksuits for the first time this week and they looked fantastic. We would like to thank Whittakers (our uniform supplier) for helping us to create our vision. - Breakfast Club
We are pleased to say that this month we have extended our Breakfast Club provisions. The children are now invited to be dropped off at school from 8.30am so that they can come and have free breakfast. We hope that this will help the children to feel full and ready to learn and also ease congestion on the roads in the morning. - Rotakids Great Roughlee Bake Off
Our Rotakids had the fantastic idea to run a bake off style competition which they named ‘The Great Roughlee Bake Off’. Families were asked to spend some precious quality time together to bake something for the competition. Each entrant got a small prize and then there was an overall winner from each class. The bakes were sold to families in order to raise funds for the Rotakids. The Great Roughlee Bake Off was a fantastic success raising £117.10, well done Rotakids!
