Firstly a thankyou for our appeal for new volunteers. Phil Hartley who lives in the village came along last month and is happy to lend a hand with the upkeep of the Hall – we’re pleased to say he passed the test!! We’ve had a good productive month at the Hall. In April we hosted various events including the recent fell race. We supplied cakes, tea and coffee to the runners and raised over £350 for the Hall, which is fantastic. However to put this into perspective our electricity bill last month was £125, so the money raised doesn’t go far! This month we’ll be finalising the new flooring for the downstairs corridors and hopefully will be fitted by the end of May, then it’s on to replacing the lighting in the hall for the next project.
On Saturday 27th April, both Meat Loaf and Elton John made an appearance at the Hall. Dean Torkington (from Noggarth Top Shop / Pendle View Tea Gardens) entertained the villagers with his impersonations of these two legends. A great night Dean!
