Derian House Children’s Hospice Day (12 July)...
Hi everyone,
After another successful Music, Gin, and Beer Festival, the VC also hosted a pop-up bar and food stop for the pub walk run by the Hospice. The feedback and assurances put in place by the RVCC all seem to have gone swimmingly, and everything went without complaint.
Next up is the Derian House Children’s Hospice Day, a very worthwhile cause supporting respite care and nursing for sick children. The Derian Day event on Saturday, 12th July, starts at 1 pm and needs your support. The Real Village People are performing, among others, at 3pm, and our local Malkin Morris dancers are giving Maypole classes during the day. As it is a children’s charity, we will have all kinds of events. The theme of the day is Superheroes, with four classes offering Amazon vouchers for the winners. Judging starts at 2pm.
Bring the children and enjoy the day! There will be children’s games, face painting, a toffee tombola, and Joyce O’Sullivan is running an adult bottle tombola, as well as a raffle with tickets on sale on the day. Please donate directly to her or drop items off on a Tuesday between 1pm and 3pm. As always, we will have a licensed bar all day and a fun atmosphere.
The cost of entry is £7.50, and accompanied children under 14 are free. The entry fee includes a burger and salad bar from 5pm, while children will get hot dogs and vegetables. Please book a quiche with Glen on 07849 774438. Payment is made on the day.
The event will be similar to the Duck Race, which everyone enjoys, so please support our cause. We were able to donate £5,000 in 2024!
