Roughlee Parish Council
FORA Vacancy, Caravan Park, Speeding...
The results of the BKV competition where published last week and unfortunately, I have to report that we have not progressed to the final round. Whilst this is disappointing it is not totally unexpected. A lot of work has taken place throughout the village (thanks to those involved), but I am afraid that we have probably suffered by not having someone coordinating these efforts. We will continue in our search for someone to take on this role in readiness for next year. If you feel that you could help us with the role, please give me or one of the team a shout, so that we can discuss this further. You don’t really need to be green fingered, just organised and enthusiastic.
The development of the caravan park adjacent to Pasture Lane is continuing and discussions are still ongoing with the planning team at Pendle Borough Council as to the legality of this development. Rest assured that we are continually monitoring the situation and liaising with planning.
On a more positive note, I have had comments made by residents about the village being used as a race track with speeding cars. I asked if these incidents were being reported to the police as they cannot try to fix problems they are not aware of. Some are, some aren’t. However, when I have shared PCSO Alan Fielding’s details where appropriate, he has responded very positively to these reports (albeit historical). So if you see any sort of anti social behaviour or mysterious visitors in strange cars in the village please email Alan.
Next PC meeting Monday 1st September at 7pm.
