St Mary’s CE Primary School
St Marys were very excited to welcome five new Reception pupils in September, they have settled in wonderfully and seem to be really enjoying school life.
Since returning to school in September the children have been very busy, Memories Made photography visited us to take some lovely class photos and over the last couple of weeks our children have been working very hard on raising sponsor money for Great Athlete. The children participated in a sponsored circuit event with the athlete Anthony Cotterill, I am so proud to say the children managed to raise £771.70, this will be used to support Great Athlete and to purchase sports equipment for school.
6 Year 4 children represented our school family brilliantly at the Cidari Earth Conference at Blackburn Cathedral. They participated in activities addressing environmental challenges like plastic pollution, war and conflict and global warming. Reverend Nick also joined for a closing worship and told everyone a story about the wonders of Jesus.
Finally a big thank you to Friends of Newchurch for organising their wonderful annual Fashion Show, this is always an extremely popular event and so far they have raised over £1400!
