Dear Diary, What a fabulous May we had...
BBC Radio Lancashire joined us and four fabulous little ’uns, from St. Mary’s School, on the park. We chatted about the coronation, our super new play equipment and Access-4-All pathway… the interview can be heard here (the interview starts at 2:07:55).
On the Saturday a lot of us enjoyed watching King Charles III coronation on the TV and then on Sunday we all got together for a picnic on the park! What a day! Chloe opened the Access-4-All pathway, the weather was absolutely gorgeous, there were delicious cakes, bottles of fizz, balloons, games and lots wonderful people meeting old friends and new faces. People won bottles of wine, gifts and cakes on the tombola and, to top it all, the Community raised £160 for Pendleside Hospice. Winner!
Monday brought rain, but that didn’t stop the hardy volunteers gathering to help collect litter in the villages – starting to spruce the Parish up ready for the Best Kept Village competition! It was fab to see new faces helping out too, thank you so much.
Thursday saw the Annual General Meeting. Massive thanks to Chris for bringing new ideas and the Spenbrook perspective to the meeting, much appreciated.
As we started the new municipal year the Parish Council voted in the Chair and Vice Chair. As returning Chair, I’m looking forward to helping the Community with new projects and challenges, and I know Frank Shiers will continue to be a steadfast Vice Chair.
And, the sun’s out! Hurrahhh… Let’s see what the coming months bring…
