St Mary’s Primary Academy
Boat race, celebrations, SATS, swimming...
Life in school seems to have been very busy for everyone this month.
Children, parents and grandparents really enjoyed the Boat Race fundraising event organised by the Friends of Newchurch. We were lucky with the weather and the Cabin in Barley remained open so that children and parents could purchase ice-cream and coffees etc., which added extra sparkle to the occasion. It was a very successful event raising £547 for school resources, please can I extend a massive thank you to all involved.
Since the last edition of the Parish Newsletter, we have celebrated two very special dates with families and friends of our pupils with services in church. These being Easter and the Coronation of KIng Charles III. On both occasions the children, staff, parents and Reverend Julie really demonstrated why our school family is so special.
We are very proud of our Year 6 pupils who coped admirably with their SATs last week, their maturity will stand them in very good stead as they move onto high school. Thank you to the governors who gave up their time to invigilate the tests.
Our junior pupils are looking forward to starting thie swimming lessons later this month – it is always a big adventure to go for swimming lessons on the bus!!!
We hope everyone has fun during the half term holiday.
