Goldshaw Booth Parish Council

Dry stone walling, Summer Fair, crime updates...

Firstly, a massive thank you to Howard Hartley (Lancs. County Councillor) for getting stuck in! Howard demonstrated dry stone walling to our very own Frank and between them they repaired the Newchurch park boundary wall – well done both and THANK YOU!

There is re-modelling work ongoing at St. Mary’s church. The creation of a more flexible indoor space plus toilet facility means work is necessary for drainage. This will be joined to the village drainage in Newchurch park and is funded by the Church.

The Friends of Newchurch School are at it again (well done Laura and Team!) raising funds for the school. The St. Mary’s school Summer Fair is on Saturday 8th July. We’ll see you there for the legendary cream teas and some fizz!

Two residents of the Spenbrook Mill development were welcomed to June’s Parish Council meeting. They reported that the development is expected to be complete by Sept. 2023 and the majority of units were already sold.

Thank you to Barley Parish Council for the invite to their annual village meeting and buffet. Derek certainly knows how to put on a good spread!

The parish of Goldshaw Booth occasionally experiences a spate of crimes (usually theft). Monthly crime stats will now be posted on the Parish Council website. In the instance of crime please report the matter to the Police and, if you think the parish CCTV can help, please contact us with your crime reference number. Frank will be happy to check the CCTV for images.

WATCH OUT for news of the Community Summer BBQ! Welcoming new residents, old residents and visitors; following on from the success of the Picnic on the Park and with the promise of Captain Dawson’s BBQ skills, the Summer BBQ should be a bloomin’ good do!

See you there…
