Goldshaw Booth Parish Council

The Flower Fairy’s been at it again...

Thank you to the Flower Fairy for the voluntary transformation of the flower boxes in Newchurch – they look fabulous as usual!

The Parish has a number of un-sung heroes. Be assured your quiet voluntary actions are noticed; from litter picking to weeding, strimming to planting thank you. Your help is much appreciated.

We will be having a follow-up planting day on Newchurch park soon. We will be adding to the existing fruit trees with the fruit bushes, transplanting raspberries and tending the raised beds. Please keep an eye on the Goldshaw Booth Facebook page for news and join us for breakfast butties on the park afterwards.

We should also know soon whether we have been successful in our Barrowford & Western Capital bid for funds to contribute to further tree planting and extending the garden spaces of Spenbrook – we’ll keep you posted!

Very recently the opportunity arose for the Parish Council to apply to be part of a LCC tree planting fund to help replenish Sparable Wood which has been damaged by ash die-back. The fund runs through-out August so hopefully we will know soon whether Goldshaw Booth has been successful.

Those who have been through Sabden Fold over recent months will have seen the wonderful flagged platform, bench, planters and tractor planter in the centre. Residents have created a fabulous memorial seating area which all can enjoy and use to reflect; walkers are often seen enjoying the space and the view.

Revamping is on the cards for the public toilet block. Initially a much needed re-paint of the barge boards but then, join us at the next Parish Council meeting to discuss ideas for overall improved use of the space.

See you there…
