- Best Kept Village
Congratulations to the residents of Sabden Fold who pushed on with the Best Kept Village competition and gained a commendation of 3rd place. Well done!Similarly, well done to the residents of Newchurch who helped secure a 5th place commendation for the village. This time next year… Maybe winners?
- Gardener
Many thanks to Jill Demaine for her steadfast attention to the gardens of the Parish over recent years. Unfortunately Jill has had to adjust her working commitments and so the Parish is looking for a gardener to start work in the Spring. Please feel free to share this with interested parties and to ask them to contact the Clerk Joe Cooney (email) for more information. - Bonfire
Thank you to all the residents and friends for attending the Newchurch bonfire and contributing to another successful event. Special thanks to the Events Committee and to Mr. Hermansen for being so lovingly volunteered for bonfire building and clear-up by Mrs. Hermansen! The event raised £104 for the Colne Open Door project of providing Christmas presents for local children who otherwise would have had little to celebrate. Well done and thank you all! - Remembrance Sunday
As always a sobering and thought provoking day. Thank you to Miss Dawson junior for helping me to lay a wreath at the Church memorial. We involve the next generation ‘lest they forget’. - Dates for your Diary:
