St. Mary’s CE Primary School
Rotakids, Christingles & Nativity, Elf-ercise...
Thank you to everyone who supported the Christmas shoebox collection for the local womens’ refuge, we had 38 shoe boxes donated and a cash donation. We are so very proud of our Rotakids for organising this and thinking of those less fortunate than themselves.
The children had an amazing time making Christingles in school followed by a service in Church with Father Paul. Also thank you to the parents that arranged the Christmas Crafting session in school this was a great success and the children got to take home a variety of homemade Christmas decorations.
Our fabulous infant children thoroughly enjoyed performing in the Wriggly Nativity! Thank you to everyone that came to the performances and for your generous donations, which will go towards next years Nativity.
The fun didn’t stop there, over the following week we had a Parental workshop making Christmas cards, a sponsored Elf-ercise in school which was kindly organised by Friends of Newchurch. The children were also very excited to visit King Georges Hall and see the Aladdin Pantomime.
Finally to finish off the Christmas festivities we had a visit from Father Christmas, a lovely Christmas lunch and a Carol Service with mince pies and non-alcoholic mulled wine!
I think it’s safe to say after all those activities the children were ready for their Christmas break!
I would just like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, thank you for the continued support.
