Roughlee Parish Council
Spring Clean, Litter Pick, New Railings, Flower Tubs...
In the last two issues of this publication I have commented on the improving Spring weather, this I obviously got wrong so I apologise and as a consequence have resigned from the Roughlee Weather Forecasting Bureau.
Planning applications seem to have turned into buses, in that we have had none for several months and then three turn up all at once, details listed below. All of these are being given the due consideration that they require.
Work has already ready started to make the village look great again, flower beds are being tidied and one of our community litter picks took place on the 23rd run by our fantastic FORA team.
We now have a couple of ideas for grant applications but would always welcome more. One of the ideas that we are exploring is to try to start to replace the railings and concrete posts opposite Waterfall Cottages with a stone wall whilst keeping some of the existing rails for the planters. This I know will be costly and might even be beyond us financially or might have to be done in stages. So watch this space. One of last year’s projects was the flower tubs located at Happy Valley which are starting to look splendid.
Wising you all a Happy Easter.
Next meeting Monday 8th April at 7pm
