Walking with Witches (20 July), Macmillan fundraiser (12 July)...
Roughlee Village Centre Committee would like to thank everyone who attended or worked at the highly successful Beer, Gin and Music Festival. Camra members on block agreed it is the finest of it type anywhere local. The event not only boosts the centre’s funds but was supporting our efforts to make money for Derian House Childrens Hospice and local business came forward in numbers to boost that total.
The next event at the centre is a Macmillan Cancer Support fundraiser on Friday 12th July including quiz and pie and pea supper. Tickets are required and can be obtained at tonight’s Roughlee Parish Gathering or from Glen on 07849 774438 or Jayne on 07958 556632.
On Saturday 20th July we have organised another Derian House event called ‘Walking with Witches’. It starts at the village centre (breakfast barms & hot drinks available to purchase) and sets off up Stang top into Whitehough, Barley where at the village hall the fabulous WI will be providing a pit stop for walkers, up Ogden and over to the Kirk, Jinny lane and return past Alice. At the village centre a party starts 2pm with entertainment, BBQ and licensed bar.

Derian really is a most worthwhile charity bringing specialist care to sick children and respite to families. If the walk is beyond you or you’re away on your jollies, just giving or sponsoring walkers would be great, visit the WI in Barley or come to the Party in Roughlee.
