Newchurch St. Mary’s CE Primary Academy
Another amazing year...
Wow, we have enjoyed such a busy half term!!
We have had the pleasure of Paul the farmer, Molly from Nelson Library and Cathy from Padiham Rotary visiting school. As well as sharing their expertise with us, they make our learning so much more fun! Thank you.
Friends of Newchurch have continued to be busy raising funds for school by organising another Cream Tea/Summer Fair event. Once again this proved to be very successful raising £600, which has been put towards a new fence around our EYFS outside area. Thank you ladies for making this happen.
At the beginning of July we welcomed our new EYFS children. We are happy to say that they quickly settled into school and enjoyed both of their Say and Play sessions. Fingers crossed that they feel the same in September after a few weeks in school!
The weather remained fine for Sports Day 😎 and lots of fun was had. All of our after school clubs have continued to be well supported and the children continue to thrive with all of the different opportunities they receive. We are proud to announce that with all of the sporting activities we participate in, we have been awarded the Gold School Games Award. Very well done to everyone.
The children have enjoyed some wonderful trips this term – the infants went to Nest Farm and the juniors visited Towneley Park for an outdoor activity day. Years 5 and 6 had the time of their lives during their residential visit to Howe Stean Gorge. As well as having lots of fun on these trips, the children have also learned a lot about themselves.
Finally, we have once more had to say goodbye to another fabulous group of Year 6 pupils. We hope you have a great summer before embarking on the adventure that is high school. Everyone at St Mary’s wishes the children and their families all the very best for the future.
We return to school on Monday 2nd September to do it all again x
Thank you for another amazing year everyone!
