Goldshaw Booth Parish Council

Summer BBQ, 20MPH, Footpaths and Vacancies...

While the weather hasn’t been kind to us over the last month (and the summer in general), the rain kept off on the afternoon of the 10th August, for the community barbeque.

It was lovely to meet up with many old friends and new, and the efforts of the volunteers was very much appreciated.

Special thanks to Carl Ryder for fixing the replacement swings and seats for the children, which got well used on the day, and everyone who brought such a fine array of cold food to go with the rest of the barbeque.

It was very encouraging that the August meeting of the Parish Council saw a number of members of the public come along, not only for the tea and cakes, but also to contribute to the proceedings.

The next meeting will be on Thursday 5th September in St Mary’s Church at 7:15pm where we will be discussing how/whether we can a 20 MPH zone introduced and also the footpaths in Goldshaw Booth, along with our usual business.

As stated last month, we still have 2 vacancies on the Parish Council, and would like to encourage anyone with an interest in giving a very limited amount of their time, to improving village life, to get in touch.
