We had a very successful month at the village centre in October – our FORA group led by Meg Davey and Ian Mortimer were successful in getting up the hattrick for reserve Best Small Village 2024. To celebrate this achievement a fundraiser was held to mark the teams effort – a great time was enjoyed by villagers, with £400 raised towards keeping Roughlee as we all know to be Lancashire’s best kept small village. Despite more dubious final judging decisions – where is VAR when you need it.

The Halloween event was held at the end of the month which always proves a winner with old and young, ‘Stone the Crows’ performed and a few well known locals got a bit of scary Morris dancing practice.

In December on Saturday 7th we are holding our Dickens event at the village centre. We have Santa arriving at 3pm on his sleigh, a grotto, stalls, café, licensed bar till late with the sensational Spenbrook duo ‘Me and Sally’ performing from 7pm. Happy hour in play from 6.30pm.

Christmas tree lighting up at 5.15pm with Malkin Morris performing before and carols and shanty afterwards. Free to all as usual to get in the festive mood.

Dickensian Christmas Fayre 2024

On the 21st December we are holding the village Christmas Party at the centre with Billy D performing 60’s to 90’s favourites and a luxury buffet plus BYO drink.

Roughlee Christmas Party 2024

The Pantomime returns on Saturday 28th Dec by popular demand in the form of a rerun on the big screen of last years superb Cinderella show – details in next months issue.
