Halloween & Bonfire, Picnic Tables, SPID...
What an excellent time was had at the Halloween and Bonfire events. The Winning pumpkin is pictured below and the Houses of Halloween was won by Church Lodge which featured a very large inflatable witch!
This month sees the Christmas Festival on Sunday 8th December, with the Christmas lights being switched on at 5PM followed by a visit from Father Christmas. Tickets still available from Laura Standring or Hailey Hermansen.
In previous years the Parish Council have not met in December, but we will be doing so this year, and are providing Mulled Wine and Mince Pies, on Monday 9th December in St. Mary’s Church from 6.15pm, so please join us. Who knows, we might entice you to join us on the Council!
At the January Parish Council Meeting we will have Carmel Hustler from Lancashire Archives attending to tell us about the Keeping Lancashire in Pictures (KELP) project which is being run to ensure we don’t lose our local history by encouraging us to dig out our old photos and get them digitised. I’d encourage you all to search out any that you have and bring them along.
The 5 new picnic tables have been sited, with 3 in the top field and 2 down below the wood.
We are again very grateful to Carl Ryder for helping sort out the problems identified during the annual playground inspection, and Carl will also be helping out when it is our turn to have the SPID (Speed Indicator Device) back in the village. As we are now only sharing the device with Barley and Roughlee, we should see it back in the village on amore frequent basis.
