Roughlee Parish Council
Parish Gathering (Monday 12 May, 7pm), Planning application...
It only seems like two minute since I wrote our last article – I guess it must be the sunshine that we have been having, making time pass so quickly.
Our Annual General Meeting took place earlier in April and I am pleased to confirm that we are running with the same team, albeit, we still do have a vacancy for a Parish Councillor. If you are interested please give me a shout and we can discuss what this involves.
As you have probably already guessed with my ramblings it has been a quiet month with the exception of one “planning in principle” application for the green space between the bottom of Stang Top Road and Old Hall Close. The Parish Council has raised concerns with Pendle Borough Council re this application, so we will wait and see the outcome and keep you posted. I know from conversations that I have had with many people and the many postings that I have seen on social media that this application has created some anguish. What I would say is that it’s great hearing personal views and that I take them onboard, but if you feel so strongly about this, then the best course of action is to raise your concerns directly with Pendle Borough Council through the planning website (see below). Planners don’t look at social media for any comments good or bad.
Please don’t forget that this year our Annual Parish Gathering will take place on MONDAY 12th May, commencing at 7pm (This is one month earlier than previous years). So please put a date in your diary. This is your chance to see what we do on the Parish Council, meet the team and ask questions. Guest speakers have been found and will no doubt entertain and enlighten us on the day. As usual, it will end with wine and nibbles.
