St Mary’s CE Primary School

Aspirations Day, World Book Day, Sports, Tales...

The children participated in a very exciting Easter Pizza colouring competition hosted by The Dough Ball Pizza Co. The competition was a fun and engaging activity designed to introduce children to creativity, problem solving and real world skills. One of our year 4 pupils won the Master Pizzaiolo Award which included a £50 voucher for Wilfred’s or Bertram’s restaurant, a training session with a professional chef at the Dough Ball studio, Pizza chef apron and hat and finally a box of 37 dough balls! What an amazing prize, we are so proud of all of our children!

Friends of Newchurch organised their annual Boat Race and what a success this was, the ladies at FON’s sold 790 boats at £1 each! All of the prizes were donated by Alannah Parkinson of Alannah Jade Counselling, thank you to everyone that made this such a special event.

The children and staff had a lovely day celebrating VE day, we had a picnic lunch outside and discussed the importance of this with the children.

The Yr 3 and Yr 4 children did an amazing job at a Tri Golf competition at Pendle Vale, 7 schools participated and our children at St Mary’s won the competition, well done!

We are so proud of Y6 as they completed their Y6 SATS with aplomb and will now be looking forward to moving onto high school.

Finally we have a lovely day planned for the children today with a retired professional cricket player Paul Naylor visiting school to teach the children cricket and have lots of fun!
