Notes from St. Mary’s
A Warm Welcome
My time at St Mary’s Church began on Christmas Eve of 2024.
My son Richard and his father David Hutchinson had been involved throughout the year in work carried out to make a Narthex at the back of St Mary’s Church. The making of the Narthex was to be able to make the space a more useful space, which can be rented out. Also, for it to be used to host tea and cakes throughout the summer months, once a month.
David and I attended the 2024 Christmas Eve service. We received a warm welcome from everybody. We both found something special at St Mary’s and continued going to worship there.
As time passed my involvement with St Mary’s and church duties increased. I am now a member of the PCC. I take part in and bake for coffee and cake afternoons, do church cleaning, flower arranging, intercessions, and service planning. I enjoy immensely being involved with the church and its activities. The parishioners are passionate about St Mary’s. Many have continually worshipped at the church from birth – through baptism, confirmation and marriage. Spanning many years their knowledge and understanding of the church is remarkable.
