Roughlee CE Primary School
Jam-packed Summer Term
We’ve had a jam-packed start to our Summer Term!
We started this half-term with a fantastic trip to the World Museum in Liverpool. Highlights included the mummies and the dinosaurs. Our Infant children started their swimming lessons with all the class achieving at least award 1 and completing their water safety certificate. The whole school also took part in Bikeability with Go Velo – children learned to ride their bikes with no stabilisers and learned how to ride on the road safely. The children have learnt about a range of topics including baptism, the Vikings, sewing, circuits and minibeasts. The Year 6s completed their SATs and we’re super proud of how hard they all worked and we’re sure the results will be a fair reflection of this. We ended the half-term by having ‘Mad Hair Day’, the whole school wore crazy hairstyles to help raise lots of money for the Little Princess Trust.
We still have plenty coming up next term including: our taster sessions; the juniors will start swimming; the Rotakids will be going for lunch at the Higher Trapp; we have our whole school trip to Whitehough; sports day at the Leisure Box; our annual summer fair; the junior production; the end of year trip and our leaver’s service.
We are very fortunate to have amazing children, supportive families and wonderful staff here at Roughlee. Working together in unity, we are able to provide our children with excellent teaching and learning provisions and fabulous experiences/opportunities. This enables our children to flourish and achieve within a loving environment, which is rooted in Christian faith.
