Goldshaw Booth Parish Council

Website, Facebook, Info Boards, Tai Chi, Jog in the Park..

Despite June being a month of weather extremes, from washout to heatwave, it has been a productive month for Goldshaw Booth Parish Council. Our main focus has been the development of a new website which we are pleased to announce is now live! It has been designed to enhance communication and ensure that our online presence is compliant with the latest standards and regulations.

Our website content is now accessible to all members of our community, and our domain name is a .gov.uk address which builds our online credibility and reinforces our dedication to providing official and reliable information to our residents. To further support our commitment to data protection and privacy, the Clerk, Chair and Vice Chair have been assigned dedicated .gov.uk email addresses.

Please visit our website where you can find essential information about council meetings, local initiatives, and community events. Our goal is to foster a stronger connection with our community through improved access to information and services. We look forward to your feedback and hope you find our new website a valuable resource!

As part of this initiative, we have also launched a refreshed Goldshaw Booth Parish Council Facebook page which we’ll be keeping updated with information about events, activities and photos – please join us here or by searching for Goldshaw Booth Parish Council.

Turning to other news, we are continuing work to seek funding and to develop content for new information boards for each of the villages in the Parish, and Brian Pinder is renovating the Parish benches in the church yard.

There has also been plenty of physical activity with the Pendle Pub Walk taking place on Saturday 13th June, fundraising for Pendleside Hospice and our first Tai Chi session with Lighthouse Tai Chi, which was well attended on 28th June with lots of very positive feedback. The next sessions are on 2nd August and 6th September – thank you to Witches Galore for sponsoring this series.

The last Jog In The Park, sponsored by Haffners, takes place on Sunday 5th July – a great opportunity to challenge yourself and walk, jog or run a timed 1-5km distance.

Our next meeting is on Monday 13th July, 7pm, at St Mary’s Church in Newchurch – as ever, please come along for a warm welcome, cup of tea and lively discussion.
