Donation, Dia de los Muertos (7 Nov), Table Tennis & Pétanque
Graham Hill from Roughlee Village Centre Committee was pleased to be able to go to Derian House Children’s Hospice and present them with a cheque for £2000. The much needed funds were raised from profits relating to the Music, Beer and Gin Festival held at the village centre earlier in the year and from the generous donations from a number of individuals who sponsored a barrel. Thank you from the committee to all those who turned up over the three days, those who donated and to those who gave up their time to make the event a great success.
It’s almost that time of year again. This year will be a slight change from the normal November “Witch Wines” event. In its place the Village Centre will be hosting “Dia de los Muertos – The Day of the Dead”. Don’t panic though a selection of wines will still be flowing. There are limited numbers available for this event so early booking and payment is essential. Feel free to dress appropriately. You may have seen on Facebook over the past year, our committee member Graham Hill has been raising money for North West Air Ambulance by doing multiple trips to the top of Pendle Hill, His 68th and final ascent will be completed on 12th September to coincide with his 68th birthday. Everyone is invited to join Graham on his final trip which will start at Roughlee Village Centre at 9.30 am on the 12th , Bacon butties and a brew await.
