Barley Methodist Chapel

Harvest Festival (4 Oct), FOG Club, Indoor Car Boot (17 Oct), Dates for your Diary...

There is plenty happening at Barley Methodist Chapel as we head into autumn and winter, and we are delighted to see our chapel continuing to be a place where people of all ages can come together, enjoy friendship and be part of our community.

Harvest Festival Family Service Sunday 4th October at 11am, led by Pat George.

This will be a relaxed and welcoming service for all the family, we are particularly pleased that some of our young people from FOG Club are taking part in the service. Our Harvest Festival is a wonderful opportunity to give thanks for all the blessings we have, celebrate our community and enjoy being together.

We would also encourage everyone who can to bring along donations of non-perishable food items. These will be donated to Church on the Street, helping support people and families in our wider community who may be struggling.

And, because we know our four-legged friends are very much part of family life too, furry friends are welcome to join us!

We hope you can come along and make it a really special family celebration.

FOG Club is Back!

We are delighted that our FOG Club has restarted after the summer break. The club continues to be a fantastic opportunity for our younger members of the community to meet, make friends, have fun and take part in a variety of activities.

It is wonderful to see the chapel full of energy and laughter again, and we are especially looking forward to seeing the children play their part in our Harvest Festival Family Service.

Indoor Car Boot Sale – Saturday 17th October

We are excited to be holding our Indoor Car Boot Sale on Saturday 17th October, from 11am until 3pm.

This is a new venture for the chapel and we are hoping it will become a regular monthly event, bringing even more people from the surrounding villages and local community into our lovely chapel hall.

We already have lots of stallholders booked, so come along, have a browse and see what bargains and treasures you might discover!

There will also be plenty of refreshments available, including homemade cakes, pie and peas, tea, coffee and cold drinks. Why not make a morning or afternoon of it, grab yourself a bargain and enjoy some good food and friendly company?

All proceeds from the event will go towards raising funds for the next phase of essential maintenance work required to our chapel building.

The chapel has already benefited enormously from the support and generosity of our local community, and we are determined to continue looking after this special building so that it can remain at the heart of village life for many years to come.
