Pendleside Repair Café

Sat 3 Oct at Barley Chapel - Mending, Making and Community Spirit

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the Repair Café over the past few months. Our last event was really well attended, and it was lovely to be back at Barley Chapel following their summer of renovation works.

We’ve now repaired over 50 items, including lamps, jumpers, coffee machines and garden tools – what a fantastic achievement! So, if you have something at home that’s broken, worn or in need of a little TLC, why not bring it along? Our wonderful team of volunteer repairers love a challenge and will do their best to give your treasured items a new lease of life.

The Repair Café is a free, friendly community event, bringing people together to help keep useful items out of landfill, enjoy a cuppa, have a good natter and, of course, indulge in a slice of cake!

We meet on the first Saturday of each month, from 10.30am to 1pm, at Barley Chapel.

Our next Repair Café is on Saturday, 3rd October at Barley Chapel. We’d love to see you there!

New Faces Always Welcome!

Our Repair Café is all about community spirit, and we’re always keen to welcome new people to our friendly team. Whether you have practical repair skills, enjoy sewing or mending, or would simply like to help with welcoming visitors, serving refreshments or keeping things running smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.

You don’t need to be an expert – just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. It’s a lovely way to meet people, learn new skills and make a real difference in our community. If you’d like to become part of the team, come along to a Repair Café and have a chat with us. We’d love to welcome you!

Exciting news about our Saturday, 7th November event

We are delighted to welcome various guests including Pendle Patchers to our November Repair Café. A focus will be on how to reuse and repurpose materials and textiles – a lovely opportunity to learn some new skills and discover creative ways to reuse and recycle.

There’s more to come, so keep an eye out for further details in the next Parish Newsletter.

Everyone is welcome – come along, bring something to repair, or simply join us for a cuppa, cake and a chat!
