St Mary’s Church Services
Services this month
St Mary’s is a friendly, active church with regular and accessible services. A warm welcome is guaranteed. All our services end with tea, coffee, a biscuit or a piece of cake and a chance to get to know each other better. Our services to the end of for October are considering the way God invites people to live distinct lives that reveal His love for the whole world and invite all things to know Him. We will be continuing to examine the book of Exodus where God establishes worship with people He calls to live out His mission to the world. Through this series we hope that we too can find our place living out His mission for our community. Our services are as follows:
4th October 9:30am Morning Worship
Exodus 20:1-20 ‘Life reflecting God’s character’
11th October 9:30 Holy Communion
Exodus 32:1-14 ‘Disorder’s effect’
18th October 9:30 Harvest Festival – Family Service (See Posters)
Exodus 33:12-23 ‘Seeing God’s glory in the flesh’
25th October 9:30 Holy Communion
Deuteronomy 34:1-12 ‘To be continued..?’
1st November 6pm All Souls Service
A service of prayer, healing and hope as we remember and give thanks for loved ones who have died and we have entrusted to God’s care.
Alongside these services our sister church St Thomas’ Barrowford is hosting the following events for the Benefice:
4th October 6:30pm Baptism Service
A service of baptism by emersion for members of our congregations who wish to take this step of Christian initiation. Do come and support these individuals as they take this important step.
20th October 7pm Confirmation Service with Bishop Philip
A service to welcome from the church to those who have decided to publicly commit to following Jesus and are seeking to enter fully into the life of the church. Please speak to Nick if you would like to consider this step.
